SIUS - BUSY WEEK!!

Hello all!! As I normally say, it's been a "very busy week" but this week it has been especially busy!! I'd like to say a Happy [belated] Fourth to everyone! I hope you were safe and didn't get too crazy! But that's why we've been busy all week. Hubby's been off since Tuesday due to the holiday, so we've been going constantly and just spending time together. It's been so nice being together. We didn't venture off the island, but we've had great weather, so we've pretty much been at the beach the whole time. Now when I say, "we've been at the beach", that doesn't mean with our towels, in our swim suits, splashing around in the pacific ocean. No sir. It means that it's 65-70 degrees, not raining, and we are out beach combing for sea glass, sea rocks, and driftwood. That's what our "beach days" entail. Yes people do go swimming out here, but the water is still FREEZING cold, and honestly, I think those people in the water are completely off their rockers, but to each their own I guess.
So I guess the best way to sum up this week will be with some pictures. My favorite way to do things honestly :)

I guess he thinks he is a mechanic. He's been turning his cars & quad upside down as if to work on them. It's adorable.

Our small town had a 4th of July parade. It was....fun?

Nothing is more serious in life than Cheetos and really loud motorcycles.

We waved to the paramedics and firefighters as they drove by.

My super patriotic baby.

The fourth of July was pretty fun. Like I said, our town did a small parade (I guess it's considered big to them), and afterwards the carnival started. But EVERYONE and their mother and dog were at the carnival, so we decided to go the following day. Little did we know, they'd be packing up to leave the next day. Ugh. Oh well. The "Fair" is next month. And we will be hitting that up for sure! But we weren't able to go to the fireworks show "downtown" because it didn't start until 10:30pm and that's way past Little Man's bedtime. But we watched the Macy's Fourth of July show and then some of the Lake Union show. After we put Little Man down (he fell asleep in Hubby's arms) we sat on our back porch and watched fireworks going off all down the island, which was really neat. But since we live on a military base, we're not "allowed" to have explosives (ie: Fireworks), so we lucked out doing that, but that's alright. We watched them on TV, and we'll do them for New Years!

The rest of the week was devoted to beach outings! (Granted these are all from the same day, this is what we did all week!)

We hit up DQ. Mommy had a crucial butterfinger blizzard craving, so Little Man got some icecream.

We weren't far from the base, so the jets kept flying over. Decklan LOVES airplanes & jets!

Yes, they are climbing this barefoot. SMH big time here.

Little Man LOVES when his Daddy does this!!

"Whoa...we're so dizzy!!!"

Other than that, we're all doing great! Hubby and I are both hard at work making things with driftwood! Well, he is. I just find stuff I want him to make or tell him how to do it, and he does it. He is absolutely amazing.

A few things I do have to add:

- To those NOT pregnant, it's kind of insulting (actually very insulting) when you ask a pregnant woman if she's carrying twins, especially when she's not. That'd be like me asking you if you were just fat or had a big lunch. Big no no. We already feel huge as it is, don't add to it. And honestly, I don't think I'm "huge" just yet because I really haven't even come close to my "weight gain allowance." I'm allowed A LOT more.
- I started reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Like literally started last night. I couldn't put the damn thing down and stayed up way too late reading, but I'm at Chapter 11. Good lord. If you haven't started reading it....you should. Although, I honestly CAN'T be alone in thinking that our female lead (Anastasia) is somewhat Bella-ish from Twilight. The whole thing (thus far) reminds me of Twilight (the books...not the movies). Minus the whole vampire thing. Just how Grey is, and how Ana sees herself, etc.
- Is it just me or does it feel like EVERYONE is pregnant right now?! I mean, yes I am included in those who are preggo, but goodness gracious, it's like 2012 is "the year" to get knocked up. I couldn't be happier for all of my friends who are or who had babies this year, I'm just saying, it feels like everyone is.
- The weather is starting to warm up! Hallelujah! I am finally able to wear dresses again! With a little cardigan, because let's face it, it's not "florida" warm, but I'll take 65 degrees over 45 degrees any day. And with that being said, I have always told Hubby that I wanted to be pregnant in the Fall/Winter months so I could wear the cute pregnant sweaters & pants. Yeah, FORGET THAT! I got to do that last month (yes, it was still FREEZING here in June), and hands down, I'd rather wear my sundresses and flip flops. What the hell was I thinking wanting to stuff my pregnant belly in a sweater that makes me LOOK bigger and then have to worry about my hips fitting into my jeans. Yeah, no. I'd rather be pregnant in the summer hands down.
- Have I ever mentioned how much our dog (Bear) hates birds in his yard? It's intense. But cracks me up because he will literally bolt out of the back door to chase them away. This totally puts a smile on my face.

That's about it! I did get photos from when my in-laws were here, so I'll get those up soon :) But I've got 50 Shades to read and homework to do and dinner to cook, so it might be tomorrow. Don't hate. Priorities. I've clearly got them straight. Later gators.
